So after a bit of trial & deliberation we’ve decided to have someone from one of the stray rescue organizations come out & rescue little Tater-tot. She is so trusting of me, but honestly, she’s so feisty when it comes to our own cat.. & she doesn’t like to be held which is a big problem when it comes to separating the two of them. She’s a little darling though & I won’t see her left out on the streets, especially as she is so young & totally adoptable after a bit of care..
But… & isn’t there always a but.
Bear & I went to the pet store today & made a little furry friend named Rocky. He is a rescue as well, he’s 3 months old & he’s adorable. He was sat there in his cage looking really forlorn. He wouldn’t even look at me, that is, until I accused him of having an oxymoron for a name. Once we made eye contact it was so over. He was all meows & paws & fur. After seeing his little face follow me as I interacted with some other kittens I eventually gave in & asked if I could hold him. Pushing the fact we’d set out to find another girl to the back of my mind, I was smitten. He just sat there in my arms, calm & peaceful, perfect…
The catch? We had to put in an application for him. Placing him back in that cage & leaving empty handed was pretty tough. But we got first dibs on him & we should hear back from this organization (the same one we’re giving Tater-butt to..) in “24-48 hours”.. If we’ve not heard from them before Saturday, we’re heading back down there anyway since they’re apparently having an Adoption Day. It would be nice to be face to face with them rather than everything being over the phone anyway.
It’s so hard not to get too excited. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t approve us but you never know.. Besides, if you’re paying $95 for a kitten, surely you’re serious no?!
Talk about sitting by the phone

When did pet adoption become like child adoption? Awwhhh… have you heard anything yet? Do post pictures of your new baby!!
